QUESTION

"Can I show my bra straps at work?"

MY TAKE

No.

You want people focused on your ideas, your contributions, and your presence, not your undergarments.

Sometimes people tell me, “I sit at my desk all day. Nobody sees me.” Except you still walk down the hallway. You go to lunch. You use the bathroom. Someone stops by unexpectedly.

I never want you dressed for work in a way where your natural state requires you to quickly cover yourself when someone walks into the room.

Undergarments have a job to do, and at work, they should generally stay underneath your clothes. If your bra straps are showing, you may need a different bra, a different top, or a simple wardrobe solution that keeps everything where you intended it to be.

Getting dressed for work means being ready to participate in your day, including the moments you didn’t plan for.

TODAY’S MOVE

Before you leave for work, do a quick 360. If an undergarment is showing, fix it before you walk out the door.

QUESTION

"What Do You Thnk Everyone Else Will Be Wearing?"

MY TAKE

This may be the question I’m asked most before an event.

The truth is, I don’t know.

And neither do you.

Trying to predict everyone else’s outfit usually creates more stress than better decisions.

Instead, shift your focus.

Dress for the role you’re stepping into, the setting you’re walking into, and the version of yourself you want to bring with you.

You don’t have to match everyone else. You want to feel authentic, appropriate for the occasion, and ready to participate.

TODAY’S MOVE

The next time you catch yourself wondering what everyone else will be wearing, replace that thought with: How do I want to show up?
